Located in Les Gets, the chalet Grande Corniche is a stunning new chalet. The construction started in 2008 and finished in 2012.
Two chalets have been built: The Grande Corniche and a small chalet we call “the Mazot”.
Inside “Grande Corniche “, we organized the wine cellar temperature regulation, we provide the ski rack, boot and gloves warmer.
Inside the Mazot, we made the plans for the bathroom, and we completed the chimney.
Outside, we worked on many areas requiring a great deal of coordination. Two teams of carpenters were working at the same time, one to finish the wood cladding on the walls of the west side and one to build the square terrace on the entrance roof at east side of the chalet.
Large machinery was used to move a huge amount of soil all around the chalet to shape the spa area and the area above the chalet. We added extra landscaping to ensure the rain water will be managed properly.
Part of this involved constructing a traditional stone wall to support the mountainside and drain the water. In the same time frame we completed the decking and the spa area. The spa was installed below the floor level, which required a specific technical implementation.
Such a large chalet does need constant maintenance and we check the chalet every two weeks to ensure everything is working well.
